The title Watering Sand refers to a proposal to tap into the Great Lakes in order to feed the water needs of the desert southwest.

Cessna Dogfight
I'm interested in various form of transportation and the mechanical qualities that make them work. The Idea of a Cessna Dogfight is just funny.

Eastward
Much of my work is autobiographic. Eastward refers to future travel plans.

Getting There
Much of my work is interactive. Getting There allows the viewer to turn a crank which rolls the marble through the piece. The idea is that the work involved in getting to the destination is sometimes more interesting than the destination itself.

Ketch
A Ketch is a type of sailboat with the distinguishing characteristic of having two masts. When the crank is turned, the marble rolls through the piece, again referencing the work involved in the journey.

This partial spinal column from a small animal was found on a beach. The cricle cutouts were in the scrap pile in my studio and somehow the two came together in this piece.
